Discordant, loud, fast – noise-constructivists Strangers are bringing their unique blend of heavy music to the ‘tron. Previously named Guest Stabs Host, a rename was in order due to a new era in sound and meaning.

A couple impressive releases to their new name, released on Action Man Records (who has released other seminal NZ hardcore acts such as Evil Priest, One Must Fall and The Wrongmen), Strangers have been refining and taking a more experimental route with their hardcore-influenced sound.

They’ve toured Australia and New Zealand a couple times now, but they still don’t seem convinced they’ve done enough. Now with a new 7” record called “Night Minutes” out, Strangers are doing it all again along with Sydney based band The Thaw.

The latest release from Strangers boasts 13 minutes of brutal and frantic tracks alongside more post-punk rhythms. The lyrics are harsh and poignant; frustration mixed with anger, life reflection & interpretation, plus some weird shit in between. All in all, it’s one sweet little package that’s set to “11” and played at double speed.
