Currently touring the country and battling head-to-head with Op-Shop for the title of “Most boring band in the country”, Shihad stroll into Hamilton on the back of their yawn-inducing latest album ‘Beautiful Machine’.
With tickets selling for a whopping $65 plus bf (more than half the price of a BDO ticket!) you’d best be hoping The Mint Chicks and Luger Boa are worth paying through the teeth for. We approached Shihad for an interview but failed to elicit a response, instead we got this hilarious press-release off their website:
“Rock’n'roll can get you into some hairy situations over 20 years. Most bands don’t make it half that far. They’re silenced by the toll of the road, the vagaries of fashion, personal differences, lost ideals or an empty tank of inspiration.
Then there’s Shihad. What doesn’t kill them only amps them up, makes them louder, clearer, more united and determined to write THE song that will make the world raise its arms and roar in a single note of perfect harmony.
Shihad hold their spot at the top of the NZ40 Chart for a second week as Vampires continues to grow on Pop, Rock and even AC stations. As you can read in the Chartbitz column this week, Shihad this week equal the record for the most Singles Chart appearances by a New Zealand act, previously held by The Exponents, as Vampires becomes the lads’ 19th chart hit.”
