With an innocent enough sounding name, you could be forgiven for thinking that this band might be a regular run-of-the-mill indie pop rock band, however if you’re aware of the other meanings of See You Next Tuesday, you might expect something else. Something else is definitely on the menu and it’s good eatin’, much like what the name alludes too.
“Intervals” is the experimental deathgrind band’s fourth release and whilst I’m not familiar with the previous albums, this one is a mean beast of a collection. The eerie introduction soon breaks way into a furious clamour of machinegun snare and discordant guitar. Fast paced riffs and beats with a deep growl feature prominently; not necessarily an original combination, but with a healthy mix of doom tones and moods and math-styled changes keep the listener on their toes.
With 18 tracks at just under 30 minutes, it’s almost technically not an album. Due to the intense talent needed to play this kind of music, it’s more an epic journey similar to the one Homer took (y’know, the Lollapalooza episode).
