Evidence of her being raised in a folk scene rings out in Charlette Hannah’s voice. It’s a mixture of haunting tunes featuring glockenspiel, bodhran, cello and piano- effortlessly gliding from love songs to soft rock without a jolt. Her strong immersion in music is evident in her broad style. Charlette has some thought provoking lyrics using nature as a strong metaphor in many songs often bringing an intuitive innocence to her sound. This is a debut album with great depth and is enticing to the ear, though you may not be best to listen to it by yourself in the dark if you are feeling slightly melancholy.
