On Monday 26 May the Hamilton Community Arts Council (HCAC) organised and successfully pulled off a great Live Music Forum; it was a meeting whose aim was to determine how those who had interests in the Hamilton contemporary music scene could come up with ideas on how to further improve the conditions within Hamilton for local, and visiting, music acts. It was a positive evening and we’d just like to thank the HCAC for putting together a productive meeting.

It seems that the HCAC isn’t still quite satiated! From June 13 to June 21 the HCAC have organised the Ignition Fringe Festival which showcases a whole bunch of art, music and performance-based artists mainly from the Waikato. There are events ranging from exhibitions to dance and music concerts, as well events during the day taking place in Garden place. There’s something new and interesting to experience, so if you’re interested check out the event listings on our website, read our feature article on the Ignition Fringe Festival, or visit www.hcac.org.nz to view the full programme timetable.

The Hamilton Community Arts Council is a vitally important part of Hamilton city; they actively contribute to growing the cultural credibility of Hamilton.
